Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Long Beach, CA office seeks a seasoned Project Manager with 10+ years in ports, maritime, and coastal engineering to lead our Structures team on waterfront infrastructure. This in-person role focuses on delivering marinas, piers, and coastal projects while guiding client engagement, regulatory strategies, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Coastal, Structural, or Environmental Engineering is required.
• 10+ years of engineering and project management experience in coastal/waterfront projects.
• Strong regulatory and permitting knowledge (USACE, CEQA/NEPA).

Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Manage coastal and waterfront projects from concept to completion (marinas, piers, ports, coastal infrastructure).
• Client Engagement: Serve as main contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
• Budget and Schedule Management: Develop and maintain budgets and schedules to deliver on-time, on-budget results.
• Technical Expertise: Provide advanced structural engineering analysis and design for marine structures.
• Team Development: Mentor junior engineers and project team members for growth and excellence.
• Regulatory Navigation: Support waterfront permitting with USACE, CEQA/NEPA, and Coastal Commission.
• Business Development: Identify opportunities to grow Kimley-Horn’s Coastal Waterfront Practice.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work with environmental scientists, planners, and naval architects.
