Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer focused on analog, digital, and RF circuit design for CNS transceiver products. You will shape both legacy and next‑generation avionics hardware while coordinating with multi‑discipline teams across engineering and manufacturing.

The role requires strong problem‑solving, effective communication, and the ability to lead design activities from schematic capture to production support within an onsite environment.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design and engineering support for CNS sustainment products, with opportunities to contribute to new product development.
  • Design, analyze, and optimize analog, digital, and / or RF circuits for high-performance avionics applications.
  • Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams—including power, digital, mechanical, systems, and manufacturing—to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Perform schematic capture, PWB layout coordination, and design documentation.
  • Support transition-to-production activities and provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support for production teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, design reviews, and technical decision-making across the product lifecycle.
  • Be self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Combine your strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify creative, technically sound solutions to complex challenges.
  • Use strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Develop technical proposals and deliver formal technical presentations.
