Collins Aerospace in Melbourne, Florida, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and maintain computer hardware components for avionics systems. This onsite role requires a U.S. Person and entails reviewing obsolete parts, designing analog and RF circuits, supervising PCB layout, and performing validation and testing.

The position requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience (or an advanced degree with 3+ years) and strong problem-solving abilities for complex hardware issues.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Must be a U.S. Person with access to ITAR/EAR information or hardware.
• 3+ years of experience designing and analyzing analog and RF circuits using schematic capture and simulation tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex hardware issues.

Responsibilities

• Review and maintain awareness of obsolete parts on assigned products.
• Design and analyze analog and RF circuits using schematic capture tools and performance simulation tools.
• Characterize analog and RF signals using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and related test equipment.
• Design and analyze digital circuits including computer hardware components and their performance characteristics.
• Provide supervision and technical guidance for PCB layout.
• Perform hands-on troubleshooting in the lab.
• Perform validation and verification to ensure design specs are met.
• Contribute to engineering estimates for moderate design problems.
• Review defects trends and pursue process improvements.
