Job summary

Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring a Set-Up Machinist for a precision manufacturing company in Lino Lakes, Minnesota. You will set up and operate CNC mill-turn equipment to produce precision components while maintaining customer specifications and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of CNC machining and setup experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and CNC programs.
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Ability to independently troubleshoot machining and setup issues.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate CNC mill-turn machines for precision machining operations.
• Verify tooling, offsets, feeds, speeds, and workholding to support efficient production.
• Read engineering drawings, calculate dimensions and tolerances, and manufacture parts per specifications.
• Inspect finished and in-process parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot machine, tooling, fixture, and process issues and make necessary adjustments.
• Collaborate with programmers and department leads on challenging jobs, tooling requirements, and production improvements.
• Follow required safety, quality, traceability, and documentation procedures.
