Job summary

BlueScope Buildings North America, Inc. seeks a skilled Machine Operator 3 to fabricate material using computerized controls and read blueprints. You will download programs, set up and operate complex machinery, and ensure quality through inspections and material optimization.

The role requires adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards, with opportunities for continuous improvement and hands-on use of cranes and measuring tools in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; ACT WorkKeys assessment at certified job profile skill level.
• 1 year of experience operating computer-controlled machinery (robotic/automatic/semi-automatic).
• Preferred: technical school certification or 6 extra months of relevant training.

Responsibilities

• Observe machine operation to monitor quality and adjust as needed.
• Download or generate programs for machine operation as required.
• Set up and operate machines with proper tooling for current job.
• Maintain material reporting and optimize material usage.
• Perform First Piece Inspection and other quality checks.
• Participate in continuous improvement and corrective actions.
• Use lifting devices and mobile equipment to move materials as needed.
• Perform housekeeping and 5-S as assigned.
