Job summary

BlueScope North America is seeking a Machine Operator 1 to set up and operate production machines, interpreting blueprints to produce components for various projects. The role involves crane/forklift use, quality checks, and maintaining equipment and workspace standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• ACT WorkKeys assessment at certified level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines to cut, punch, bend, weld or shape material to meet component specs.
• Set up machines and verify material from drawings and blueprints.
• Use cranes, forklifts or other equipment to position materials.
• Perform First Piece Inspections and quality checks.
• Participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
• Maintain inventory and perform basic machine maintenance.
• Adhere to 5S and housekeeping standards.
