Job summary

BlueScope Buildings North America, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator 1 to set up and operate production machines, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet specifications. Under general supervision, you will perform inspections and use measuring tools to verify material conformance.

Join a team focused on quality and continuous improvement. Prior manufacturing experience and basic computer skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, or ACT WorkKeys at certified job profile level.
• 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of machines, tools, and reading blueprints.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines to cut, punch, bend, weld or shape material into components.
• Set up machine and confirm specifications from drawings.
• Use cranes, forklifts or other equipment to place materials/parts as needed.
• Perform First Piece Inspections and quality checks to ensure specs.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective actions.
• Maintain inventory and perform general machine maintenance.
• Perform housekeeping, 5S and related duties.
