Job summary

STS Technical Services in Fort Wayne, IN, is seeking a Machining SME / Programmer to support precision manufacturing operations on the shop floor. The role requires hands-on programming of large CNC centers, setup development, and collaboration with production teams to meet customer specs.

You'll work with Mastercam and FANUC controls, interpret blueprints and GD&T, run trials, perform first-piece inspections, and assist with time estimates for quotes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years programming Mastercam and/or FANUC for large machining centers.
• Experience with Hyundai, Okuma, Haas, Doosan or similar equipment.
• Experience running first-piece prototypes, samples and runoff parts.
• Strong GD&T knowledge and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances and setup requirements.
• Program parts using Mastercam.
• Set up and operate CNC machining centers and related tooling.
• Calculate speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters and verify with trials.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections and document results.
• Develop machining-time estimates for customer quotes.
• Collaborate with tooling vendors to optimize parts and processes.
• Assist with lifting and securing large workpieces and routine maintenance.
