Job summary

STS Technical Services in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is seeking a Machining SME / Programmer to program large CNC centers, develop setups, and support quotes. The role requires hands-on expertise in machining, blueprint interpretation, and GD&T to drive efficient production.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years programming Mastercam and/or FANUC controls, experience with major CNC machines, and strong problem-solving and communication skills for shop-floor collaboration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience programming Mastercam and/or FANUC controls for large machining centers.
• Experience with Hyundai, Okuma, Haas, Doosan or similar equipment.
• Experience running first-piece prototypes, samples and runoff parts.
• Ability to adjust CNC programs and worksets.
• Strong GD&T knowledge and machining capability.
• Proficient at interpreting blueprints and customer specifications.
• Strong math skills and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints, manuals, specifications and sample parts to determine dimensions and setup requirements.
• Program parts using Mastercam.
• Set up and operate CNC machining centers and conventional machines.
• Develop machining time estimates for quotes and production planning.
• Perform first-piece inspections and in-process checks.
• Verify dimensions with calipers, micrometers and indicators.
