Job summary

Ducommun Incorporated is seeking a CNC Programmer II/Set Up Operator in Carson, CA. You will analyze drawings, design tool paths with SOLIDWORKS/MILLCAM, write CNC programs, and set up multi-axis machines to produce precise parts.

The role requires blueprints reading, macro programming, and experience with Haas equipment. You’ll mentor operators and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings.
• Strong mathematical skills, geometry and trigonometry for feed rates and dimensions.
• Experience with setting up CNC mills, lathes, grinders and tool calibration.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings and data to determine cuts, tools, speeds and feeds.
• Write and verify CNC programs and test machine operations.
• Set up CNC machines per blueprints and tooling instructions.
• Inspect parts and perform first-piece inspections.
• Mentor operators and suggest improvements to machining methods.
