Venturi Astrolab, Inc. in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Sr. CNC Programmer/Operator to lead programming, setup, prove-out, and operation of advanced CNC systems for precision aerospace hardware. Emphasis on 5-axis machining, mill-turn, and complex multi-sided parts.

The ideal candidate will write and optimize CNC programs, select tooling, troubleshoot issues, and drive repeatable manufacturing processes while collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and Production for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC programming in a manufacturing environment using CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, NX CAM, GibbsCAM)
• Experience operating and/or programming mill-turn or multitasking CNC equipment
• Experience supporting machining from CAD to CAM, machine setup, prove-out, and finished parts
• Experience using precision measurement and inspection tools to meet strict quality specs

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, prove out, and optimize CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis centers and mill-turn equipment
• Program complex aerospace components with multi-sided machining and tight tolerances
• Create efficient toolpaths balancing cycle time, tool life, surface finish, and accuracy
• Use CAM software to optimize complex components and toolpaths
• Apply machining strategies for roughing, finishing, drilling, tapping, and probing
• Perform simulation, post-processing, and G-code verification before run
