Job summary

Outsource Vista in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / CNC Mill & Lathe Operator to join our manufacturing team. This hands-on role requires reading drawings, creating programs, setting tools, and inspecting parts.

You will program, set up, operate, and inspect CNC machines independently, working on mills and lathes, reading blueprints and GD&T, selecting tooling, offsets, speeds, and feeds, and maintaining tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Strong experience with CNC mills and/or CNC lathes.
• Must be capable of programming CNC machines, not just operating them.
• Ability to independently set up and run machines.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
• Experience with tool selection, offsets, speeds, and feeds.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and quality-focused.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes.
• Create, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies.
• Set tool offsets, work offsets, and machine parameters.
• Perform machine setups and make adjustments during production.
• Operate machines independently from setup through completion.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary program or offset adjustments.
• Maintain tight tolerances and consistent part quality.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area organized.
• Follow safety procedures and production requirements.
