Job summary

Trendsetter Engineering, Inc. in Houston, TX seeks a Senior Lathe Machinist – CNC Programmer to set up and operate CNC equipment, program, and inspect parts.

Must have 10+ years in precision machining using Fanuc and Mazatrol controls, and perform soft edits, read blueprints, and verify tolerances. The role requires strong setup skills, ability to work with multiple machines, and occasional training of others.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience in precision machining with CNC lathes using Fanuc and Mazatrol (EIA) controls.
• Be able to perform soft edits at the control.
• Knowledge of precision measuring instruments: calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, scales.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation.
• Advanced knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures and accessories.
• Follow written and oral instructions.
• Meet productivity standards and maintain quality.
• Willingness to train others.
• Must communicate in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Promote safety awareness and comply with safety procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of safety standards.
• Set correct speeds and feeds to meet productivity goals.
• Study drawings/specs to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Support operators in loading parts, proving programs, operating controls, setting offsets, edits, deburring and inspections.
• May operate more than one machine at once.
• May write NC programs while running the machine.
• Detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust accordingly.
• Keep work area clean and organized; perform basic maintenance.
• Be familiar with HSE policies and share knowledge across the company.
