Job summary

Aether Aerospace is hiring a CNC Machinist for its Hollywood, MD facility. Immediate start date with a focus on precision, rapid iteration, and adherence to AS9100 quality standards.

The role requires strong CAD/CAM programming, extensive CNC experience, and the ability to obtain Secret Clearance. You will work on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills and waterjet operations, delivering high-tolerance components for defense programs.

Qualifications

• Proficient with SolidWorks/Inventor.
• Excellent coordination and mechanical skills.

Responsibilities

• Program, setup and operate CNC live-tool lathes.
• Program, setup and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
• Setup and operate general shop equipment such as shears, drill presses, manual mills and lathes.
• Program CNC machines using CAM software.
• Review drawings, instructions and blueprints.
• Take precise measurements to ensure quality using calipers and height gauges.
• Select appropriate tooling and plan sequences for tasks.
• Design and create fixturing and work-holding for complex parts.
• Maintain tooling inventory and run times for quoting purposes.
• Perform in-process quality checks and ensure parts meet specs.
• Identify needs for machine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Maintain a safe and clean workstation and work in a high-paced team environment.
• Operate CNC Waterjet to cut raw stock.
• Understand AS9100 requirements and document accordingly.
• Experience with hardware installation/press brake operations is a plus.
• Produce parts with tolerances as low as +/- .0005
