Job summary

Aether Aerospace, part of EXPANSIA Group, is seeking a CNC Machinist to join a defense-focused engineering team in Hollywood, MD. The role emphasizes precision, rapid yet thorough workmanship, and continuous improvement on critical programs.

Willingness to work day shifts and maintain a safe, clean workspace is essential. The candidate should have substantial CNC experience, strong math and measurement skills, proficiency with Solidworks/Inventor, and the ability to program and operate 3–5 axis

Qualifications

Must have a High School Diploma or GED. 8+ years CNC experience/programming preferred.
Excellent coordination and mechanical skills.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

Program, setup and operate CNC Live tool lathes.
Program, setup and operate 3, 4, and 5 Axis CNC milling machines.
Setup and operate general shop equipment such as shears, drill presses, mills and lathes.
Program CNC machines using CAM software.
Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints.
Takes precise measurements to ensure quality using calipers, height gauges, etc.
Selects tooling and plans task sequence.
Designs fixturing for complex parts.
Maintain tooling inventory and provide run times for quotes.
Quality check in-process parts for specs.
Identify and perform machine maintenance and minor repairs.
Operate CNC Waterjet and understand AS9100 requirements.
Complete documentation to ensure AS9100 procedures.
