Job summary

Mayfly Outdoors is seeking a Manufacturing Programming Engineer in Montrose, Colorado, to develop and optimize CNC programs for precision metal components. You will drive tooling selection, process improvements, and manufacturing readiness from prototype through production.

Qualifications

5+ years of CNC programming experience on metal components.

Responsibilities

Develop, program, and optimize CNC machines for metal product manufacture.
Create and refine machining processes to improve cycle time, quality, and tool life.
Support new product introduction from prototype through full production.
Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability (DFM).
Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions.
Select tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters for optimal performance.
Maintain program documentation, setup sheets, and process standards.
Provide data for leadership review including process validation and product rollout.
Assist in digitizing daily/weekly reports (Production Planning, Output, Tooling).
Ensure timelines, costs, and technical requirements are met with projects.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives for machining efficiency and cost reduction.
Support shop floor teams with technical expertise and training.
Ensure safety and quality standards compliance.
Work on systematic changeover time reduction to reduce batch sizes and inventory.
