Job summary

Software Placement Group (SPG) seeks an experienced CNC Programmer to develop and optimize milling programs for precision aerospace components based in Bay Shore, NY. This role emphasizes quality, efficiency, and collaboration with engineering and production teams.

You will set up and test programs, ensure safety and on-time delivery, and continuously improve machining methods. 5+ years of CNC programming and CAD proficiency are required; CATIA and Epicor ERP are a plus.

Qualifications

Associate's Degree preferred (Engineering or Manufacturing Technology).
Minimum 5 years of CNC Programming experience.
Strong experience programming CNC milling machines.
Proficiency with CAD software and CNC programming.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

Create and optimize CNC programs for milling operations.
Program custom components and tooling for production applications.
Develop machining methods and tooling strategies.
Set up and support CNC milling machines during production.
Test, troubleshoot, and validate CNC programs on production equipment.
Modify programs to reflect engineering changes and product revisions.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve machining efficiency.
Maintain programming documentation and revision control.
Support process improvements to reduce cycle times and improve quality.
Ensure all programs meet safety, quality, and customer requirements.
