Job summary

Robey Tool Inc. in Kentucky seeks an experienced CNC Programmer to develop efficient toolpaths and programs for milling and turning. You will collaborate with machinists to bring parts from print to production, ensuring tight tolerances and high quality.

You will use Mastercam, Cam Assist, and Fusion 360 to program mills and lathes, including 5-axis centers. This full-time, on-site role emphasizes clean code, continuous improvement, and teamwork on multi‑axis projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on CNC programming experience in production or job-shop settings.
• Proficiency with Mastercam, Cam Assist, and Fusion 360; able to write programs from scratch.
• Experience programming for CNC mills and 5-axis machining centers (3+2 and full simultaneous 5-axis).
• Experience programming CNC lathes (live tooling and multi-axis turning a plus).
• Solid understanding of speeds, feeds, tooling, fixturing, and work coordinate systems (WCS).
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T; read and edit G-code and M-code.
• Experience with a variety of materials (steel, stainless, aluminum, plastics; exotics a plus).
• Strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration with engineers, machinists, and quality teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as one of two primary programmers setting the pace for the production line.
• Create and optimize CNC programs for mills and lathes using Mastercam, Cam Assist, and Fusion 360.
• Program complex multi-sided parts on 5-axis machining centers, including simultaneous 5-axis toolpaths.
• Interpret drawings, GD&T, and 3D models to plan efficient machining strategies.
• Select tooling, speeds, feeds, and work holding to maximize quality and tool life.
• Generate setup sheets, tool lists, and operator documentation.
• Collaborate with machinists to prove out programs and refine processes.
• Work with engineering and quality to resolve manufacturability and dimensional issues.
• Maintain organized program libraries, post processors, and tooling databases.
