Job summary
BARNES is seeking an experienced CNC programmer and manufacturing engineer to own multi-axis milling, turning, and grinding processes from concept through production implementation. You will develop CNC programs, lead tool strategy, and design fixtures to maximize throughput and tool life.
Collaborate with production, quality, and lab teams to validate processes, address issues in real time, and drive MRB actions in a fast-paced aerospace-oriented shop.
Qualifications
- BS degree in engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of multi-axis milling, turning, and grinding experience.
- Experience with fixture design, tool selection, and CNC programming.
- Lean manufacturing experience.
- Ability to read drawings and GD&T.
- Proficient with CAD/CAM software.
Responsibilities
- Support milling, turning, and grinding processes on the shop floor.
- Own processes from concept through production implementation.
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis operations.
- Lead tool selection and cutting strategy development.
- Design fixtures and work holding for repeatability.
- Collaborate with production leads to resolve issues in real time.
- Provide hands-on support for setups, prove-outs, and validation.
- Drive MRB processes and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with lab, quality, and operators to meet specs.
