Barnes Aerospace MRO is seeking a CNC Programming Engineer to drive turning and milling programming, develop new CNC programs for NPI, and collaborate with engineers for fixture and CAD model development. The role emphasizes lean-minded, disciplined engineering in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

The candidate should have 5+ years in CNC programming for lathe and milling, experience with aerospace alloys, and strong setup and documentation skills. Bachelor’s degree in engineering is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Five+ years direct experience in lathe, VTL, 3/4 axis milling CNC programming.
  • Experience processing nickel, cobalt, and titanium based alloys in Aerospace machining operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of employees.
  • Proficient in performing full set-ups, program edits, and holding high precision tolerances.
  • Ability to program with CAM and manually as necessary.
  • Familiarity with Repair Technical Data such as Engine Repair Manuals and OEM data.

Responsibilities

  • Lead turning and milling programming development, instruction, and debugging tasks.
  • Directly support operations with CNC programming changes as needed.
  • Directly support NPI development with new CNC programs.
  • Collaborate on fixturing development with engineers and machining leads.
  • Work with CAD models for milling and turning operations.
  • Collaborate with senior staff on various engineering initiatives.
