Job summary

AMETEK is seeking an experienced CNC Operator III for the 1st shift in Whitsett, NC. You will produce machined parts by setting up CNC machines, reading prints, and performing inspections to ensure quality.

The role requires strong programming knowledge, tool selection, and the ability to write or modify programs as needed. Ideal candidates have at least 6 years of CNC experience with Mazak/Mazatrol; an HS diploma is required, with higher CNC credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or CNC certificates preferred.
• At least 6 years of CNC experience with strong understanding of CNC programming language.
• Mazak and Mazatrol experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up CNC machines; run multiple machines efficiently.
• Import and edit programs; develop machine programs as needed.
• Read engineering prints and inspect first‑piece articles for conformance.
• Load materials and measure parts per print and quality plan.
• Use measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, optical comparators) and document results.
• Communicate delays or issues to area leader and promote teamwork.
• Perform preventive maintenance on machines and keep area clean.
• Contribute to 5‑S, quality, and safety initiatives and standards.
