Job summary

Advanced Machine & Engineering (AME) in Rockford, IL is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Operator for the 2nd shift. The ideal candidate will program Mazatrol, set up lathes, and run operations with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Candidates should have 5+ years of job shop experience, strong math and measurement skills, and the ability to read blueprints. Able to operate a crane and forklift and lift up to 50 lbs. AME offers a robust benefits package and a safe, modern work environment.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent work experience in tool manufacturing.
• 5+ years of job shop experience programming and setting up CNC lathes.
• Strong math and measuring skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Ability to operate overhead crane and forklift.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Optimize machining processes for efficiency and productivity.
• Program CNC lathe using Mazatrol.
• Perform set-ups and machine operation.
• Conduct inspection checks to ensure tolerances and customer requirements.
• Use correct inspection tools to perform quality checks.
• Maintain and store cutting tools, inspection tools, and equipment to standards.
• Perform daily maintenance activities and debris removal.
• Deburr parts as required.
• Support QC/continuous improvement initiatives.
