Job summary

Advanced Machine & Engineering (AME) is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Operator for the 2nd shift in Rockford, IL. You will program Mazatrol, set up machines, and operate CNC lathes while ensuring parts meet specs and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years job shop experience programming and setting up CNC lathes.
• Strong math and measuring skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret Mazatrol programs.
• Ability to operate overhead crane and forklift.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Optimize machining processes for efficiency and productivity.
• Program CNC lathe using Mazatrol.
• Perform set-ups.
• Perform inspection checks to ensure tolerances and customer requirements.
• Use correct inspection equipment and tools for quality checks.
• Maintain and store cutting and inspection tools and equipment.
• Perform daily maintenance tasks such as checking fluids.
• Deburr parts as required.
• Participate in QC/continuous improvement processes.
