Job summary

RH Aero Systems is seeking a 2nd shift CNC Operator to operate CNC equipment, support setup activities, monitor production, and ensure machined parts meet quality, safety, and production requirements.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 1–3 years of CNC experience; Mazatrol experience is preferred. You will review work orders, blueprints, GD&T, and maintain 5S in the work area, while documenting production and quality logs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical school or equivalent preferred.
  • 1–3 years CNC operator experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Mazatrol experience preferred for Mazak equipment.
  • Working knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T.
  • Good math skills and ability to apply basic algebra and geometry.

Job Summary

The 2nd shift CNC Operator is responsible for operating CNC equipment, supporting setup activities, monitoring production, and verifying that machined parts meet quality, safety, and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produces machined parts by operating CNC equipment, supporting machine setup, monitoring production, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies.
  • Prepares for machining by reviewing work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference surfaces, machining parameters, and geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Checks available stock, verifies material against work orders, loads stock as required, and communicates material shortages or discrepancies to the appropriate team member.
  • Follows approved CNC programs and work instructions; verifies zero and reference points, tool registers, offsets, and compensation as directed; performs basic calculations as needed; and supports program prove-out under guidance.
  • Sets up machines according to work instructions and machine specifications; runs first pieces as directed; supports prove-out activities; and completes production runs.
  • Loads stock into position.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces while adhering to ISO and AS9100 standards.
  • Maintains specifications by observing machine operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting basic process issues, adjusting controls as directed, replacing worn tools, and following quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Applies 5S methodologies daily to maintain an organized, efficient, and safe work area.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required; one year of relevant technical school or equivalent experience preferred.
  • CNC machine operation experience should include the following:
  • Minimum 1-3 years of CNC machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Mazatrol experience preferred for candidates operating Mazak equipment.
  • Working knowledge of blueprint reading and geometric dimensions and tolerances.
  • Conceptual skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret safety, operating, and maintenance instructions; procedure manuals; common technical information and reports; and blueprints.
