Job summary

QPS Employment Group seeks an experienced CNC Mill Machinist/Programmer/Operator in Lake Villa, IL. You will program, set up, and run HAAS mills, using Mastercam to create and adjust programs from blueprints and GD&T specs.

Responsibilities include selecting tooling, validating dimensions with precision gauges, and inspecting parts at various stages. Must read drawings, solve tooling issues, and drive cycle-time improvements in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of CNC milling and programming experience.
• Strong experience programming with Mastercam.
• Hands-on experience setting up and operating HAAS CNC mills.
• Strong knowledge of G-Code.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
• Proficient with micrometers, calipers, indicators and other inspection tools.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate HAAS CNC milling machines.
• Create, modify, and troubleshoot CNC programs using Mastercam.
• Take jobs from blueprint through completed part and inspect.
• Read/interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
• Select tooling, fixtures, speeds, feeds, and workholding.
• Perform machine setups and make offsets and program adjustments.
• Complete first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and programming issues.
• Improve cycle times, quality, and machining processes.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and collaborate with engineering.
