Job summary

IDEX in Denver, CO is seeking a skilled CNC machinist to operate a range of machine tools including mills, lathes, grinders, and wire EDM. You will read drawings, write and modify CNC programs, design fixtures, and maintain Kanban on the shop floor while collaborating with the BAND-IT IDEX team.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in high mix/low volume environments, experience with HAAS, Mastercam or ESPRIT, and a track record mentoring peers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• NIMS Level II Certification, required.
• Applicable AAS degree or certification, preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in a high mix/low volume shop, preferred.
• Experience working with CNC mills and lathes, HAAS preferred.
• Experience working with wire EDM equipment, GF/Agie Charmilles preferred.
• Experience with four plus axis machines, preferred.
• Experience programming in Mastercam and/or ESPRIT software, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment, including mills, lathes, grinders, wire EDM.
• Write programs for CNC machines and document changes.
• Design fixtures to facilitate efficient machining.
• Maintain Kanban on the shop floor.
• Mentor and train other CNC machinists.
