Job summary

Tecomet machinists in Newton Upper Falls, MA are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist III to operate, set up, and program CNC mills, lathes, and Wire EDMs with tight tolerances. Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• 5+ years CNC Machining experience
• Associate degree or Machinist apprenticeship preferred
• GCSE/NVQ Maths and English desirable (UK only)

Responsibilities

• Operate, set up, and could program CNC mills, Wire EDMs, and CNC lathes within tolerances
• Propose new production setups and change offsets/tooling in machines
• Perform difficult CNC Machinist work with close tolerances on various metals
• Read and evaluate blueprints or specifications
• Troubleshoot CNC programs and processes
• Improve and produce work instructions
• Assist Engineering with redesigning fixtures to improve quality and productivity
• Ensure product quality via OOQ standards and measuring equipment
• Propose adjusted speeds and feeds for machining
• Perform routine PM maintenance and basic hand finishing
• Follow GMP/GDP and complete routers/cards
• Maintain safe working practices and report safety issues
• Achieve productivity targets and identify improvement opportunities
• Record activities in job tracking system
• Support Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Maintain 5S/housekeeping in work area
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
