Job summary

Corning is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up, operate and inspect a variety of machine shop equipment, with emphasis on a CNC mill. You will interpret 2D prints, verify parts with precision measuring tools, and support production and prototype work.

Qualifications

• Requires high-precision CNC milling experience.
• Ability to interpret 2D drawings and specs.
• Experience with 3-axis mills and transition to 4th axis.
• CAM programming with capability to generate code.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual machine tools (mills, lathes, drills, grinders).
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Machine and inspect precision parts to meet specs and tolerances.
• Select tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets; run basic CNC programs.
• Support prototype fabrication and process improvements; maintain safety and quality.
