Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a manual lathe and mill.
• Read and comprehend blueprints and sketches.
• Perform algebraic, trigonometry, geometry, conversions and calculations.
• Thorough knowledge in operations and maintenance of CNC mills and manual and CNC machines.

Responsibilities

• Machines parts using CNC milling machines, manual and CNC lathes.
• Consults with Shop Manager and Engineers on job details and specifications.
• Machines high precision prototype parts with minimal input and makes corrections as needed.
• Uses blueprints and job orders to ensure proper dimensions and tolerances of the finished product.
• Writes CNC programs with programming software, selects tooling, and sequences operations.
• Assists in training others as needed.
• Recommends changes as needed.
• Deciphers material properties and their effects on machining.
• Minimal grinding experience.
