Job summary

UMC in Monticello, MN seeks a Senior CNC Machinist to operate and set up high-precision machines, supporting safety and production standards. You will verify toolpaths in Vericut, perform first-piece inspections, and collaborate with Engineering on new processes.

Ideal candidates have a machining degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years as a machinist, and a proven track record with GD&T and complex alloys. Role requires on-site work and commitment to quality.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Machining or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a machinist; 10+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines for all jobs, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Perform in-machine simulations with Vericut to verify tool paths and reduce errors.
• Execute first-piece buy-offs to validate dimensions and tolerances against prints and inspection plans.
• Suggest and implement process improvements with Engineering to boost efficiency and quality.
• Mentor Apprentices and junior machinists to build technical skills and capability.
