Job summary

UMC in Monticello, MN is seeking a Senior CNC Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. You will set up and operate CNC machines, verify parts against prints, and drive quality through first-piece inspections and SPC data.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of machining experience, GD&T proficiency, and experience with Fanuc/Mitsubishi/MAPPS controls. You will mentor apprentices and collaborate with Engineering on process improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a machinist required.
• Experience machining with high-temp alloys/exotic materials.
• Proficient knowledge of GD&T.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and first-piece inspections.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machines for all jobs per quality standards.
• Perform in-machine verifications and use Vericut to simulate tool paths.
• Achieve planned production and manage scrap rates.
• Lead first-piece inspections and ensure tolerances per prints.
• Mentor Apprentices and Junior Machinists and support engineering on process improvements.
