Job summary

Aquila Research Development and Production in Tacoma, WA seeks a skilled Machinist for on-site, full- or part-time work. You will operate and maintain CNC machines, interpret blueprints, and ensure components meet specs.

The role emphasizes setting up, calibrating, measuring with calipers/micrometers, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. Collaboration with the team and adherence to ITAR-related requirements are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC operation experience.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, equipment operation, and machine maintenance.
• Experience with turning and/or 3/4/5-axis milling.
• Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, technical diagrams, and shop drawings.
• Experience with precision measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges; CMM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain CNC machinery and manufacture components.
• Set up and calibrate machines to meet specifications.
• Interpret blueprints and shop drawings accurately.
• Measure parts using calipers, micrometers and gauges; troubleshoot equipment as needed.
