Job summary

Muon Space in San Jose seeks a Senior Machinist to own machined parts from CAD to finished components used for testing and flight. You will bridge engineering and the machine shop, design fixturing, and lead first-article inspections in a fully on-site role.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of aerospace/high-precision machining, 3- and 5-axis CNC programming experience with Fusion 360 or MasterCAM, and Haas/Fanuc knowledge. US citizenship or ITAR eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years machining for aerospace/medical/high-precision industries.
• CAM programming with Fusion 360 or MasterCAM or similar.
• Haas controller experience and Fanuc familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate CNC mills and lathes for flight components.
• Participate in testing and tooling design reviews to flag tolerances and manufacturability.
• Develop fixturing, tooling, and processes to improve production speed and quality.
• Own first-article and in-process QC for hardware.
• Document via MES; write non-conformance tickets; maintain traceability.
• Train shop team and engineers on tooling and machining processes.
