Job summary

Jobot is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist in California to set up and run 3- to 5-axis CNC milling processes on tight-tolerance parts used in aerospace and defense projects.

You will read engineering drawings, select tooling, perform offsets, and conduct first article inspections, ensuring dimensional accuracy and high quality. A strong background in Fanuc controls and multi-axis mills is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience and strong setup skills.
• Proficiency with Fanuc controls and multi-axis mills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T.
• Experience with calipers, micrometers and height gauges.
• Aerospace/defense or high-precision manufacturing background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
• Read drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements.
• Select tooling, perform offsets, and optimize processes.
• Conduct first article and in-process inspections.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to reduce scrap.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
