Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team in a hands-on role. You will set up, program, and operate CNC lathes and mills while ensuring high-quality components are produced.

The ideal candidate has strong CNC programming skills, can read blueprints and GD&T, troubleshoot issues, and lead a small team to meet production goals. Excellent benefits and room for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience including machine setup and programming.
• Experience with CNC lathes, horizontal and vertical machining centers.
• Strong CNC programming skills with the ability to read/edit G-code.
• Experience interpreting blueprints and GD&T.
• Proficient using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, indicators, depth gauges).
• Understanding of tooling, inserts, fixtures, boring bars, tool holders, and machining practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining processes and maintain tight tolerances.
• Basic math skills incl. geometry and algebra.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with Haas controls preferred.
• Experience with SolidCAM and SolidWorks is a plus

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes, horizontals, and vertical mills.
• Edit and troubleshoot G-code to optimize performance.
• Load materials, prove out new programs, set tool offsets, perform first-piece inspections.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions.
• Verify finished parts with calipers, micrometers, indicators, depth gauges.
• Monitor production to meet quality standards and goals.
• Troubleshoot processes and adjust machines to maintain quality.
• Perform preventative maintenance and keep area clean.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and management to resolve issues.
• Lead and mentor a team of 2–3 operators; promote teamwork.
• Suggest and implement continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency, quality, safety.
