Elgen Staffing seeks an experienced CNC Machinist to join our client in Fairfield, AL. The role focuses on independently manufacturing precision components from engineering drawings and interpreting blueprints.

This is not a machine operator position; true machinists with knowledge of machining processes are required. Ideal candidates will have experience programming CNC machines from prints, handling large, heavy components, and working with overhead cranes and rigging as needed.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience reading complex engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Ability to set up and machine precision parts to tight tolerances.
• Experience programming CNC machines directly from prints is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Set up and machine precision parts to required specifications.
• Program CNC machines directly from drawings (CAD/CAM programming experience is not required).
• Select tooling, machining strategies, and inspection methods.
• Perform machine setups, prove out programs, and adjust as needed.
• Operate CNC and/or manual mills and lathes.
• Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy and quality.
• Safely handle large, heavy workpieces using cranes and rigging when required.
