Job summary

Hanger, Inc. in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a CNC Machinist III to lead complex part programming and production of precision components used in orthotic and prosthetic devices. You will set up machines, select tooling, and optimize processes to meet tight tolerances while mentoring junior machinists.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience with demonstrated progression in responsibility.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Trade Certificate or relevant apprenticeship strongly preferred.
• Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record.

Responsibilities

• Program less complex parts at the machine and support programming of more advanced components.
• Select cutting tools, fixtures, and machining strategies for complex part geometries.
• Calculate and set machining parameters including speed, feed, depth of cut, and coolant flow.
• Monitor machine operations to identify malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and implement corrective actions.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of machining issues, tooling failures, and fit-up problems.
• Support mold, fixture, and tooling refinement to improve manufacturability and cycle time.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Machinist I and II level team members.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve complex part and process issues.
