Leidos Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a CNC Machinist 2nd Shift. The ideal candidate will have experience programming, setting up and operating CNC Mills and CNC Lathes, reading engineering drawings, and ensuring print tolerance.

The role requires reading drawings, operating lathes primarily with mill backup, and setting up multiple machines to produce aerospace components.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of precision machining experience on CNC Mills & Lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
• Must be able to lift 35+ pounds and work overtime when required.
• Willingness to work Fri, Sat, Sun 6AM-6PM and US citizenship clearance.

Responsibilities

• Read engineering drawings and set up/run machines on multiple operations.
• Operate CNC lathes (primary) with back-up on CNC mills.
• Verify dimensional accuracy using fixtures or gauges to tolerance.
• Produce aerospace components from exotic materials; 5-axis/mill-turn a plus.
• Collaborate in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
