Job summary

Fairchild Precision Parts is seeking a CNC Lathe Setup Tech & Operator in Winsted, CT. You will own the full cycle on your machines, from tooling and setup to running production and inspecting parts to tight tolerances.

The shop maintains AS9100D and ISO 9001 certified quality systems, with opportunities to drive improvements and work closely with QA. We value meticulous operators with 3+ years of CNC lathe experience, strong drawings interpretation skills, and precision measurement

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC lathe machines.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including fractions and decimals.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gages.

Responsibilities

• Tool, set up, and operate CNC lathe machines to produce parts to production needs and customer specifications.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep an organized, clean work area.
• Keep detailed records of machine setups, production runs, quality checks, and maintenance.
• Work with the Quality Assurance team to resolve product discrepancies and maintain measuring devices and equipment.
• Flag product discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, and other production risks to your supervisor.
• Suggest improvements to efficiency, communication, and quality.
• Follow safety regulations and company policies.
