Hosokawa Micron Powder Systems in Summit, NJ is seeking a Sr. CNC Machinist to manage all turned machining, both manual and CNC lathe operations, including programming, setup and supervision of two CNC lathes with live tooling and manual lathes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years using CNC including programming, tool selection, setup and operation.
• 3+ years programming in G-Code.
• 3+ years in tooling/cutter selection.
• 1+ year supervising operators.
• Ability to self-inspect parts and use inspection tools accurately (calipers and micrometers).
• Strong mathematical acumen - addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and geometry.

Responsibilities

• Write and modify G-Code programs to make parts optimally
• Tool selection including optimum cutting tools, speeds and feed rates
• Setup including multi-axis and tight tolerance (to 0.0001")
• Read and understand engineering drawings
• Ability to use inspection tools including calipers and micrometers
• Inspect or provide parts to the QC Inspector for inspection
• Train and support CNC Operators with large quantity runs
• Conduct preventative maintenance on machines
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
