Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
• 8+ years of horizontal milling experience with complex setups.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation.
• Proven ability to run jobs from setup through completion independently.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up and operate horizontal milling machines for complex work.
• Design, build, and modify fixtures and work-holding solutions.
• Select optimal cutters, tooling, and machining strategies to maximize efficiency and tool life.
• Perform heavy stock removal, straddle milling, slotting, splines, keyways, gears, and precision bores.
• Develop CNC programs and plan machining sequences from print through production.
• Troubleshoot engineering and process issues and improve manufacturability.
• Mentor junior machinists and uphold safety and quality standards.
• Support quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
