Job summary

Makino Inc. is seeking a CNC Technician Level 2 or Sr. to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Makino CNC machine tools across the Greater Chicago region, with occasional travel. This role supports customers’ machine tool operations and reports to the Regional Customer Support Manager.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical skills, the ability to read schematics, and strong communication. Technicians are dispatched from home to customer locations, with a company vehicle provided.

Qualifications

• Direct hands-on experience servicing Makino CNC machine tools.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic IT equipment.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tool equipment and controls.
• (Makino provides a company vehicle; gas and travel expenses are covered.)
• Use online technical documentation, manuals, and vendor resources to research and resolve machine issues.
• Complete and submit accurate documentation to Makino and customers regarding machine status, repairs, and installations.
• Perform and promote preventive maintenance on customer equipment and provide after-sales technical support and training.
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of the machine tool industry and the Makino product lines.
• Participate in training on CNC repair and Makino equipment during onboarding.
