Aerotek is seeking an Inspection Technician / CMM Programmer in Wixom, MI. The role combines hands-on inspection work with advanced CMM programming to ensure machined and purchased components meet precise engineering and quality standards.
You will program Zeiss CMMs using Calypso, perform dimensional and visual inspections, and collaborate across the machine shop to maintain high levels of product quality and consistency. Strong GD&T and metrology experience are required.
Competenze
- 6+ years as a CMM programmer and operator
- 3+ years programming Zeiss CMMs from scratch in Calypso
- Hands-on CMM operation, programming and inspection
- Proficient in validating CMM routines on Zeiss equipment
- Ability to read blueprints with GD&T symbols
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, height gages and gages
- Strong understanding of tolerances, metrology and quality inspection
- Experience in QC/QA and final inspections
- High attention to detail in CMM operations
- Proficient with MS Office for data entry and reporting

- Inspect machined and purchased components for conformance
- Evaluate parts against tolerances and quality requirements
- Identify non-conformances and communicate findings to leadership
- Program Zeiss CMMs from scratch using Calypso
- Operate Zeiss CMMs for precise measurements
- Maintain inspection records and non-conformance documentation
- Assist with calibration and maintenance of metrology equipment
- Support continuous improvement with inspection data and feedback
- Collaborate with machine shop to ensure parts fit and function
- Perform final, layout and quality checks using CMM and traditional tools
- Record and analyze data using Microsoft Office
