Job summary

Helander Metal Spinning Company is seeking a Senior Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer to lead CMM inspection on aerospace and high-performance components in Addison, IL. You will program and operate Polyworks for first-article and complex-part inspection, coordinating the cell's daily priorities while hands-on inspecting on the shop floor.

Required: 5+ years in precision dimensional inspection, CMM programming (Polyworks or equivalent), strong GD&T knowledge (ASME Y14.5), and AS9102 FAI

• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• AS9102 First Article Inspection experience.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate CMM equipment (Polyworks) for complex, first-article, and routine inspections.
• Develop and validate inspection routines from drawings, CAD models, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Perform AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) and document results.
• Coordinate inspection-cell workflow and daily priorities as a working lead.
• Perform hands-on dimensional inspection using calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
• Document nonconformances and support root-cause and corrective action within an AS9100D quality system.

What we're looking for

Required:

• 5+ years of precision dimensional inspection experience in machining or aerospace
• Demonstrated CMM programming and operation (Polyworks or equivalent)
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
• AS9102 First Article Inspection experience

Preferred:

• Polyworks programming certification
• Aerospace, AS9100, or NADCAP experience
• Root-cause analysis (8D) experience

Pay, benefits and schedule

Pay: $48–$60/hr, commensurate with demonstrated CMM programming capability and inspection experience. Final level and pay are based on demonstrated competency, not tenure.

Schedule: Day shift, on-site.
