Job summary
Calqulate Metrics Ltd in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced CMM Programmer/Inspector to strengthen the inspection department. This hands-on role requires independent programming, operation of CMMs, resolving measurement discrepancies, and establishing reliable inspection processes.
The successful candidate will participate in selecting and implementing a new CMM system, with ZEISS equipment and software strongly preferred, and will train inspection personnel as the department grows.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience programming and operating CMM equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Inspect close-tolerance machined components.
- Troubleshoot measurement inconsistencies and validate results.
Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and optimize CMM inspection programs for precision components.
- Set up and operate CMM equipment for dimensional inspections.
- Interpret drawings, GD&T, and customer quality requirements.
- Develop inspection strategies, setups, and measurement routines.
- Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections.
- Investigate measurement discrepancies and determine sources.
- Prepare inspection reports and communicate findings to production leadership.
- Help select and launch a new ZEISS-based CMM system.
- Establish CMM programming standards and calibration practices.
- Train and mentor inspection personnel.
