Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer/Inspector to strengthen our inspection department in a precision manufacturing environment. This hands-on role requires independent programming, operation of CMM equipment, and the ability to resolve measurement discrepancies.

The successful candidate will participate in selecting and implementing a new CMM system, with ZEISS equipment and software strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience programming and operating CMM equipment in precision manufacturing.
• Strong ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience inspecting close-tolerance machined components.
• Able to troubleshoot measurement discrepancies and validate results.
• Experience developing inspection plans and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and optimize CMM inspection programs for precision components.
• Set up and operate CMM equipment for dimensional inspections.
• Interpret drawings, GD&T, and customer quality requirements.
• Develop inspection strategies, setups, and measurement routines.
• Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections.
• Investigate discrepancies and identify root causes.
• Ensure methods are accurate, repeatable, and documented.
• Prepare clear inspection reports and communicate findings.
• Assist in selecting and launching a new CMM system (ZEISS preferred).
• Establish programming standards, calibration practices, and procedures.
• Recommend improvements to equipment and processes.
• Collaborate with machinists and leadership to resolve quality issues.
• Train and mentor inspection staff as the department grows.
• Help build an inspection function meeting customer and internal standards.
