Job summary

IMI plc in Farmington, CT is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer to join our Life Science Team, programming ZEISS CMMs with CALYPSO and performing first article, in-process, and final inspections.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience operating and programming ZEISS CMMs using CALYPSO.
• Strong understanding and practical application of GD&T.
• Experience inspecting precision-machined components.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficient with MS Office and inspection reporting.
• Knowledge of SPC and MSA; experience supporting PPAP/FAI.

Responsibilities

• Program, operate, and troubleshoot ZEISS CMMs using CALYPSO.
• Develop and optimize CMM inspection programs for products.
• Perform first article, in-process, final, and capability inspections.
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct manual inspections with micrometers, calipers, height gages, bore gages, and optical comparators.
• Verify conformance to GD&T and customer specs; generate inspection reports in Excel.
• Investigate dimensional nonconformances and support root cause analysis.
• Maintain calibration of inspection equipment and collaborate with teams to resolve quality issues.
• Support continuous improvement and quality system requirements.
