Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in Virginia and/or the District of Columbia to serve as a Senior CMI Project Manager / Deputy CMI Market Sector Lead. This role supports AECOM’s Construction Management and Inspection (CMI) transportation business across Northern Virginia and DC.

Responsibilities include managing all phases of CMI projects, serving as primary client contact, leading teams, coordinating engineers and inspectors, and supporting business development while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience on VDOT and/or DDOT projects.
• PE license in DC, Maryland or Virginia or reciprocity within 6 months of hire.
• US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of Construction Management and Inspection (CMI) projects from planning through closeout, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and delivering exceptional client service.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on constructability reviews, field engineering challenges, and construction-related issues throughout project execution.
• Apply extensive construction management experience to support project owners, field staff, and multidisciplinary teams in resolving complex technical and operational issues.
• Lead, mentor, and develop project teams, promoting collaboration, accountability, and professional growth among engineers, inspectors, and technical staff.
• Coordinate and oversee the work of engineers, inspectors, and technicians, ensuring resources are effectively managed to meet project objectives.
