Job summary

AECOM seeks a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Virginia and/or DC for a Senior CMI Project Manager / Deputy CMI Market Sector Lead role. You will support construction management and inspection for transportation projects across Northern Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Responsibilities include leading project teams, managing budgets and schedules, and maintaining client relationships while ensuring contract compliance and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education.
• Previous experience on VDOT and/or DDOT projects.
• PE License in DC, Maryland or Virginia or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity within 6 months of hire.
• CCM
• US Citizenship is required

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of Construction Management and Inspection (CMI) projects from planning through closeout, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and exceptional service.
• Provide technical leadership on constructability reviews and field engineering challenges during project execution.
• Support project owners, field staff, and multidisciplinary teams in resolving complex technical/operational issues.
• Lead, mentor, and develop project teams to promote collaboration and growth.
• Coordinate and oversee engineers, inspectors, and technicians to meet project objectives.
• Interpret and coordinate technical assignments requiring engineering judgment in transportation construction practices.
• Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to ensure effective communication across all phases.
• Exercise independent judgment in resolving technical and project management matters with minimal supervision
