Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to serve as a Senior CMI Project Manager / Deputy CMI Market Sector Lead in support of the transportation CMI business across Northern Virginia and DC. Hybrid work model in the Arlington, VA area and surrounding regions.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and 8+ years of relevant experience, with a PE license or eligibility. US Citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering plus 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Previous experience working on VDOT and/or DDOT projects.
• PE License in DC, Maryland or Virginia or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity within 6 months of hire.
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of Construction Management and Inspection (CMI) projects from planning through closeout, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and delivering exceptional client service.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on constructability reviews, field engineering challenges, and construction-related issues throughout project execution.
• Lead, mentor, and develop project teams, promoting collaboration, accountability, and professional growth among engineers, inspectors, and technical staff.
• Coordinate and oversee the work of engineers, inspectors, and technicians, ensuring resources are effectively managed to meet project objectives.
• Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate technical assignments requiring sound engineering judgment and knowledge of transportation construction practices.
• Collaborate with internal disciplines and external stakeholders to support project delivery, resolve technical issues, and ensure effective communication across all phases of the project.
